STEM Summer Academy

 

BHCC announces a new STEM Summer Academy offering STEM* majors the opportunity to complete a select summer STEM course FREE of charge!

Students in the STEM Summer Academy will participate in field trips, workshops, and mentoring events to network, gain career and academic mentoring, and learn about careers related to transportation. 

Students who successfully complete the classes with a grade of C or higher and participate in at least 1 of 3 sponsored events will receive a $500 scholarship towards a math, science

Summer 2024 Schedule (June 3-July 29)

CSC-120-02 Intro to Computer Sci/OOP
Hybrid Class meets in person Tuesdays from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Remotely on Thursdays from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

ENR-101-01 Intro to Engineering
Meets in person 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. pm Tuesdays and Thursdays

MAT 181-WB1 Statistics I Fully Online

MAT-099-01C/MAT-194-01C Cluster Intermediate and College Algebra for STEM
Meets remotely Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11:45 a.m. and also in person Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.

  • To qualify for any of these free classes you MUST be available to attend at least 1 scheduled event (see our website bhcc.edu/stemstarter/). Events will be announced before classes begin.
  • *To qualify for this program students should have declared select STEM majors, with priority given to those in Engineering Transfer, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Science, Physics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or Object Orientated Computer Programming & Design Certificate.
  • All other applicants accepted only with a waiver from the Program Coordinators.
